Ibiza is renowned for its nightlife especially the clubs
and bars of San Antonio and Ibiza Town. The major clubs are:
This
club, situated on the waterfront of San Antonio is the newest superclub on the
island. It was renovated over winter 1999-2000 bringing the capacity to 5000. It
has several areas on split-levels with new mezzanine area, 10 bars, and features
a glass roof and a chill out garden ('The Garden of Eden'). Judge Jules designed
the D.J. box. Regular nights include Sundissential and Golden with DJs like Dave
Pearce, Judge Jules, and Brandon Block. Open until 7am most nights.
Also
situated in San Antonio, this well-established club, opened in 1975.The
glamorous building is a huge glass pyramid and was used to film Mel C's 'I turn
to you' video. Inside it has stunning decor and is filled with palm trees and
tropical plants. It features the Fiesta del Agua, which is when the sunken dance
floor is filled with water, and there is a massive water party. It also has a
sunroof to let in the fresh air. Features Clockwork Orange. Open until 6am.
Situated
between San Antonio and Ibiza Town, this club was originally opened in the
1970's, and renowned for its foam parties. This club used to have an open-air
roof but unfortunately due to noise levels had to seal the roof off. It has a
stunning garden terrace and an excellent V.I.P. room, which overlooks the whole
club. Nights include Cream and Godskitchen. Open until 7am.
This
very glamorous club which over looks the harbour in Ibiza Town is relatively new
to the island. You can catch a free boat from the harbour to the clubs door to
arrive in style. It also has an excellent restaurant that opens from 9 O'clock
every night. It has a spectacular terrace overlooking the harbour. Nights
include Miss Moneypenny's and MTV. Resident DJ's include Danny Rampling.
Situated
in Ibiza Town, and opened in 1973, this is the oldest and most famous of all the
clubs in Ibiza. It is one of the few clubs to open all year round, although it
only opens at weekend during the winter months. It has a fantastic chill out
room and a capacity of 5000. Some of the nights here are Gatecrasher and
Ministry of Sound. Open until 7am.
This
club that opened in the 1970's is in between San Antonio and Ibiza Town, very
close to san Rafael football stadium. It is the largest club on the island with
a capacity of 10,000 it is very easy to get lost in. It has mind- blowing
interior which makes it feel like you're clubbing in a five star hotel. It was
the first night club ever to have a swimming pool which will cool you down after
a hard nights clubbing. It also has indoor gardens and a terrace where there is
table service. This club even has a resident toilet DJ! Nights here include the
legendary Manumission and Renaissance. Open until 7am
Situated
in Playa d'en Bossa, this club is truly unique, it opens when the other clubs
are closing and stays open all day long. This club opened in 1988 and was
originally a normal nighttime club. Here you can hear banging techno inside or
chill out with cool house vibes on the outdoor terrace. Nights here are
Gatecrasher, Home, Manumission and loads more.
