CLUBBING

London is the melting pot for the international clubbing scene - a form of entertainment with its own culture, rules, attitude and loyal followers who shun the daylight.

The scene in London has been described as the best on the planet, and since the late '80s Britain has set the global standard in dance music.

Clubbing is not a new form of entertainment, rather it has come from the underground and become more accessible to a wider mainstream audience.

Club entry costs about £10-20. Hardcore clubbers are easy to spot with their funky clothes and hairstyles and, while plenty of sweaty bodies are on display, clubbing is all about the music and the way it makes you feel.

WEBSITES

After a hard week’s work you might feel like slinking home, turning on the TV and nursing a cup of cocoa. Don’t! Whether you know it or not, you’ve just arrived in one of the hottest clubbing cities in the world. From house to hiphop, trance to techno, garage to northern soul, hard banging to progressive house, London has it all.

Tips:

You will be searched for drugs upon entry to a club.
Bouncers can be aggressive - don't make them suspicious by being over friendly.
Take minimal belongings - cloakrooms charge £1-2 per item.
Take enough money to get home - taxis raise their rates picking up clubbers in the early hours of the morning. Be aware that tubes often don't start running until 7am at the weekends.
Night buses are cheap but takes a long time to get home and if heading home alone - please DO NOT ever take a mini cab even if they have ID!!!
